As another year draws to a close, in addition to our usual workload we have also been busy spreading festive cheer as part of our social value activities.
We kicked off in Mid November with donation boxes in the office for employees to donate food and toys for local charity, Surviving Christmas, to help support their new toy appeal and hamper project. The charity has been running for over 30 years with the objective of offering relief in cases of need, hardship or distressed people who are resident in Hastings and Rother. Our staff took time out of the office to help pack charity hampers, organise gifts and decorate for the Santa’s grotto event. This year Surviving Christmas packed and distributed 800 hampers to families most in need. We received some great feedback from our employees who really enjoyed volunteering and found it really rewarding to have the opportunity to get involved and support this fantastic charity, which makes such a huge difference to the Christmases of the families they support.
On the 7th December we celebrated Christmas Jumper Day with everyone donning their favourite christmas jumper! We hosted a bake sale and played games whilst raising an amazing £357 for Save the Children.
Finally, we all had chance to let our hair down at the Triangle Xmas Party with great food from Harold’s Hog Roast, live music from local band, The Kavemen, and our Employee of the Year Award – Well Done to Aimee Howard from our Servicing Department! In return for a free bar we ask our employees to donate to a charity, this year the RNLI was selected and we were pleased to raise £363 for this important charity.
A big thanks to all our employees for all their hard work over the year and for their fantastic support of all our social value activities.
