Triangle Fire were awarded the contract for the Fire Protection Package at Lewisham Exchange in London.

A previously neglected strip of land between two major roads and a rail line has been redeveloped into two remarkable towers standing at 20 and 35 storeys high. The new towers consits of 758 student accommodation rooms and 67 affordable homes. They offer a variety of one, two and three-bedroom apartments with terraces located on the upper levels.

Triangle was contracted directly by Tide Construction Ltd, the main contractors who undertook this challenging project. Our task was to design, install and supply:

• BS 9251 Residential Fire Sprinklers
• BS 12845 Commercial Fire Sprinklers
• BS 9990 Wet Risers

Triangle Fire Systems were eagar to participate in this project and installed 2226 residential sprinkler heads along with 310 commerical sprinkler heads.

Although this project was intricate, the towers were finished in just 18 months. This remarkable achievement addressed the needs of the local community and has introduced a diverse and lively community to the heart of a local town. The Lewisham Exchange 35 storey tower stands as tallest volumetric (1,243) student accommodation globally.
