Helena Dollimore, MP Visit

On Thursday, March 6th, Triangle warmly welcomed Helena Dollimore, the MP for Hastings and Rother to our headquarters.

Steve detailed it’s origins with his brothers Colin and Nigel, emphasising the importance of family as the foundation of our growth. Now, 19 years later, Triangle is committed to local employment, with 81 of our staff members residing in the area.

We explored our contributions to the local community and how Triangle strives to make a positive impact. This includes funding the National Literacy Trust’s Dream Big Programme, volunteering for Surviving Christmas and the Martha Trust Project, supporting local crowdfunding initiatives, and being business supporters of Hastings United Football Club.

Additionally, Steve, our Commercial Director, Chris, our Technical Compliance Manager, Liam, our Retro Tender Manager and Helena engaged in an in-depth discussion about the challenge of the newly implemented Building Safety Act, which was enacted in 2023. This law mandates that all projects in High-Rise Buildings (HRBs) must comply with building safety regulations. Talking about the repercussions of the Building Safety Act, particularly the delay in installation fire sprinkler systems – essential for protecting people and property – due to the pending approval of applications for the safety regulations.

Helena was shocked to learn many flats remain unprotected by sprinklers as a result of these delays and the subsequent threat to the safety of the residents within. Helena has agreed to have further discussion in Westminster to address this challenging yet crucial issue. Triangle are thrilled to have met Helena and wish her every success during her time as our local MP for the Hastings and Rye area.
