Project brief

Triangle Fire were awarded the contract for the fire protection package at Gascoigne West in Barking.

A brand-new development consisting of 386 dwellings split over five new 9-20 storey blocks, 31 townhouses and a community hub. Delivering affordable housing in Barking, being developed by ‘Wates Construction’ who are the main contractors. 

Construction commenced in August 2020 and is due for completion in 2024. Triangle Fire Systems were contracted directly by Essex Servicing Group Plc to design, install and supply:

• 355 apartments and 31 townhouses with BS 9251 Residential Sprinkler Systems.
• BS 9990 Dry Riser installed in Towers 1 – 4 
• BS 9990 Wet Risers installed to Tower 5 

Behind the construction of the development is an idea of the ’15-minute neighborhood.’ Strengthening pedestrian and cycle routes whilst improving access to Barking Station, Barking Town Hall, the town center, 4 schools, Great-fields Park and many more all with a 15-minute stroll.

The landscaping of the site also promotes urban nature and biodiversity as well as designed to integrate green infrastructure. The towers all have solar panels and green roofs to aid the generation of renewable energy.
