What is Volunteering Week?
Volunteering Week commemorates it’s 40th anniversary since its establishment in 1984 as ‘Volunteering England’ This milestone allows us to acknowledge, celebrate and express gratitude to the amazing volunteers in the UK for their valuable contributes to our communities, encompassing the voluntary sector and society at large.
Volunteering aligns with our company values of giving back to the community. It allows our employees to build skills and confidence whilst contributing to a positive cause and enhancing their sense of well-being.
What is Triangle Doing?
Over the last 6 months, Triangle Fire Systems has achieved 66 hours of volunteering in our local communities. This includes:
- Words for Work: Dream Big develops literacy skills, raises aspirations and challenges stereotypes. As part of the programme, a team of volunteers, visited young children in a local primary school. We spoke to the children about our job roles through a Q&A session with a focus on fire safety.
- Surviving Christmas: In December, a team of employees volunteered at a local charity. The team helped to pack hundreds of hampers for families, arranged gifts for children and decorated the hall for the Christmas and Boxing Day meals. We also contributed a variety of food for the hampers and toys for the Santa’s grotto.
Tonight, we have two teams supporting a quiz night organised by Surviving Christmas. A great balance of having fun whilst participating in something for the greater good. Money raised at the quiz will go towards this year’s hamper appeal!
Triangle Fire Systems are always actively looking for new volunteering opportunities within our local communities to do our part in helping those in need.
